.invaded.

I'm convinced that we are slowly being overrun by ants. Every spring we get the occasional ants that find our way into our home...nothing that a shoe counldn't fix. This spring however, we are finally being assulted with their full numbers. It started off simple enough 5-6 ants in our bathroom, but slowly everyday there was more and more. It was slowly driving me crazy! I would kill all the new ants and spray the perimeter of the bathroom and not 3 hours later I would come back to a new batch of ants roaming around my bathroom floor. They then moved from the bathroom to our bedroom. I would find them here or there on a few clothes that didn't get thrown in the hamper. So I just started keeping the floor cleared of any debris thinking that would help. The other morning when I went to grab Finn (who is finally sleeping in his own room & doing wonderful) I noticed he had spit up on his swaddle blanket. I unwrapped him and left the swaddle blanket on our bed. I came back that afternoon to feed and lay the little man down for his nap, when I noticed our bed had been taken over by ants. They had smelled that sweet soured milk smell and made their way in mass. I may have freaked a little because I have never seen anything like it. The vacuum came out and I went to work sucking up those little buggers, washing bedding, tearing apart the bed, cleaning and vacuuming our entire room (it hadn't been done that well in awhile), and then we sprayed the entire perimeter of the basement. I'll admit, I feel a little violated! We are hoping that we can keep the ants at bay, but serisouly, does anyone have a full proof plan to keep ants out, because I'm completely grossed out!

ug, i'm not sure. ant traps. and I think there is some sort of concoction that you can look up on the internet. i know there are pretty easy & simple solutions out there. i'd feel invaded, too.

we found a beetle of sorts in our room the other day & i told garrett we needed to move. :)

Remember when that happened at Hillside? And I picked up what I thought was a piece of sausage from my pizza and suddenly it was moving! I screamed so loud and long that Kim came running out of the back room to protect me from being attacked. And then we realized it was just ants! But I don't remember how we solved that one . . . Maybe spray inside and outside if you can?

Same problem down here in St. George - those buggers just don't get it. Got the bug guy to spray - hoping that will help, but with ants - they seem to always find a way!

When we moved in we had a really bad problem because the builders had just left the house open as they were building it, so the ants and beetles were inside the walls. The only thing that worked was to have pest control come out and spray...hope you get rid of them. I don't mind ants/bugs as long as they are not in my house...totally understand the violated feeling!!! Good luck!

Beth we have a very reasonably priced bug guy that does a good job of getting the ants under control. It is the only thing that has ever really worked for us.
