I find it amazing how fast things can change when everything is in it's right place and time. These past few weeks Roy and I have been seriously talking about a change in our life's. Roy has worked for the same company for almost 5 years now. It as been a great job for Roy, paying well and keeping him out from behind a desk. However, for Roy to be happy he must see himself progressing, and he had worked himself to the point where he was no longer moving forward. In fact he felt like the environment that he was working in was actually dragging him back and I would have to agree. Many days he would come from work worn out emotionally and physically. I really started noticing the change in the morning. Roy is usually a whole different person in the morning. Usually up at 5:30 getting ready and anxious to get the day started, he started to lounge around in bed longer in the morning and he stopped setting his alarm clock and just waited for mine to go off. He no longer cared if he was the first person at work (very unusual for Roy). I hated watching this transformation in Roy and not know what to do. One day Roy finally told me he could not physically work another winter installing because his ankle tendons would lock up and he couldn't walk. He also finally opened up about how unappreciated he felt at work and how tired he was of being there. We discussed different ideas and solutions, but were hesitant to really do anything because so many people don't even have jobs right now, we felt that we were being ungrateful for the job he had. We have taken our concerns and questions to the lord and prayed for his guidance in this process hoping that an opportunity would present itself. Fast forward to last Thursday....
I was busy working, when who would walk through the door but bishop A.J. (our bishop from the singles ward). He came right out and said he needed to talk to Roy. When I inquired what about he said, "Well, I don't know if Roy is working where he wants to for the rest of his life, but I have a position opening up that I would like to talk to him about." And just like that, Roy and I had been given an opportunity to make a positive change in our life's. Roy has given his two weeks notice and isn't looking back. Though this transition isn't quite complete, we both feel the peace of this decision. I can see the hand of the lord in this and I'm grateful for his love for us. We can't wait to see where life is going to take us!

Roy would be working for Bishop AJ??? How do I get in on that? Congrats guys. I hope it works out as the best thing for you!
I'm so glad Roy is saying yes and so will AJ. AJ is very good to his employees, he's a softy. I think Roy is really going to like the atmosphere there.
Wow, what a story. It's so hard to leave the security of current life--even if it isn't a life you truly want. Way to go!
We are just looking forward to this positive change. thanks for the support!
