How many does it take?

I have a pet peeve, well I have more than one, but I would like to focus on one in particular this morning. I would like to preface this rant by saying I really do enjoy where I work, it's a small quite environment. I can get dicey some days but most of the time it's really enjoyable and not too stressful. When I say small it really is, there are only about 8-9 of us here on any given day. This is great most of the time, but on days like today...not so great. Each morning, like clockwork at 9:30, the guys go on a drink run. Honestly, I don't mind that they go on a drink run, in fact they usually grab me some ice and an odd hot chocolate every once in awhile. But what really makes my butt itch is when all 4 indoor sales guys go. They justify this by saying, "Randy will cover the phones". This is not a solution to the problem of leaving me alone with demanding customers. What they know, as well as I do, is that Randy is what we call a long talker. Of course Randy will cover the phones while there gone as long as that means one phone call every half hour. Personally I think that drink runs could be covered by 2-3 people tops, but apparently I work with a bunch of middle school girls who can't go to the gas station by themselves.

IT JUST BUGS....that's all!

We used to have drink runs. It was a ritual, but it died when a few key people left. It's all about the opportunity to go for a walk and talk to people about not work stuff. I went without even buying anything most of the time.
But I always wondered if it bugged any non participators.
Sorry it bugs. :(

What bugs is they don't seem to care about our cusomers. It becomes a problem when they just put getting a drink in front of their work. I can understand wanting to get out of the office for 10 minutes or so, but take turns and make sure you don't negelect the people that give you business....sorry I'm not ranting at you, I'm just ranting. I work with some vey lazy privledged sons whose dad lets them do whatever. Love you Caron!
